and then request a password so you can remove the auto renewal which does not work. I was disconnected and called back and told them the story, I was asked for my name, Avast account, and avast order ID which I did not have as you have to save all the emails with the invoice no. and said I would get a refund and would connect me with billing. I tried many many times to stop the auto renewal and finally after 6 back and forth emails, I got a confirmation on auto renewal was turned off and would not be charged, two days later my bank account was charged the $52.89! I went to so called customer service and asked for a refund and to cancel auto renewal, again I got a confirmation email that said it was turned off and minutes later I received another email saying it was turned back on! I had to stop my bank card and request a new one, as this is a total scam, and I was the one that called an avast no. They make you jump through so many hoops that you would have to be a computer geek to stop the auto renewal. I thought I would try it for a year and then decided to cancel the auto renewal. Quote from: bertolottip on January 02, 2018, 05:05:34 PM Hello,Beware!!! I got the Avast internet security and Avast cleanup total price $52.89 Also the Avast VPN. And it is outrageous and shady business practice for the deactivation to be impossible by myself, in my case. Or without Avast checking any account information. This is outrageous that I was able to place a purchase without an account in the first place. I would strongly appreciate some help to deactivate the auto renewal of Cleanup Premium. So now, I have a useless avast account that doesn't allow me to deactivate the auto renewal. It says in my account that I have no licenses registered or anything. I decided to create an Avast account with my email adress thinking maybe this would work. But I certainly did give my credit card information for the free trial, that was not an issue for Avast apparently. So at this point I have no way to connect to an account, and no way to track my order. Second suprise : I get an error message telling me the information I entered is incorrect. Since I did not receive an order confirmation I went with the second option of using my email adress and 4 last digit of my credit card number. I then went to the support page about deactivation which tells me to go this website: įirst option is to use the order number. I should mention that I did have an avast account since I have previously received emails from Avast. This is the same email adress I used to process the payment to Cleanup Premium. No way to remember my password so I clicked the " Can't access your account ?" link which prompted me to enter my email adress.įirst surprise : I got an error message telling me my email adress is not registered. I took me to the Avast account login page. I opened Cleanup Premium, went to Subscription then clicked on the View my account link. I then tried deactivating the auto renewal cancellation. At this point I should mention I did not receive an email confirming my order. I entered my credit card information together with my email adress. I decided to try the 60 days free trial for Cleanup Premium today.
